Ikebana is a Japanese style of floral arrangement.  It translates as “Bringing flowers to life”.  In its practice, one uses minimal stems of flowers, leaves and branches (5-13) to create a beautiful work of art. 

Class includes: one small bowl, one flower frog, 5-15 stems (depending on type), and instruction in how to choose, prepare and place your flowers in a beautiful way. Light refreshment and snacks will be provided.  

Every Tuesday, except July 29th! July 8, 15, 19, August 5,  10am-11am

Together, we will read about the wonders of nature, specifically focusing on flowers, bugs, and weather. Honing their skills for observing, counting, categorizing, and deciphering what they see in our wildflower gardens. We will also create fun crafts that reflect what we’ve explored. Parents or guardians are welcome to join if they wish. Please be prompt in collecting your child at 11am, but feel free to explore the fields and the shop together for a while longer.

 Work with local art teacher, Jessica Kitzrow, to create a beautiful painting of a scenic and colorful floral field. 

Included: Tools and supplies,  1 hour of knowledgeable instruction, light refreshments and snacks provided.

Also known as blueprinting, a photographic process that produces a blue-colored print on various materials. It’s a simple, camera-less technique that relies on UV light exposure to create an image.
